Crochet 101
Three Class Series-Offered Monthly
-
Registering for this class will sign you up for THREE 90-minute sessions for the FIRST THREE WEDNESDAYS OF THE MONTH:
For Example:
—Wednesday, Jan 8, 6:00-7:30
—Wednesday, Jan 15, 6:00-7:30
—Wednesday, Jan 22, 6:00-7:30Learn the basics of how to crochet with a THREE SESSION workshop with Vod. Attendees will start the session learning the chain stitch and how to comfortably hold the yarn in your non-dominant hand. Once you have a basic understanding of chain stitch, you will be taught how to do the single crochet stitch and how to crochet a basic rectangular swatch, a skill which can easily translate into the project of your desire! Depending on how quickly you catch on to the skill (and quite frankly, how much you practice between sessions), your instructor will be available to support you in the crochet projects you wish to pursue, such as a scarf, hat, blanket, a yarn-bomb, or even a granny square project!
All materials provided. You will go home with a crochet hook and a supply of yarn to continue your practice.
No previous creative skills needed.
Appropriate for ages 12 and up.
*Every student picks up the skill at a different rate. Some students can get a good sense of what to do in one session, but most need additional instructor time. Every student needs to put in practice time between sessions to gain muscle memory and work on their yarn-tension. Both knitting and crochet requires GRIT. Success comes from regular practice and a desire to learn.
